07.122018Christmas Odds in the UK: White Xmas, Number 1, I’m a Celebrity
It’s December, which means winter is here, the football season is preparing for its biggest month, and Christmas is just around the corner. With that in mind, let’s look at what the bookmakers are tipping for this festive season.
Bet365 are currently offering a wealth of odds on whether there will be snow on Christmas Day in the UK. It’s all regionalised, and the region with the shortest odds is Aberdeen, returning 3.75. It’s bad news for Londoners though as the odds are as high as 6.50, the same as they are in Cardiff and Birmingham. It seems that there’s a good chance of snow in parts of Scotland, but less so elsewhere.
Christmas Number 1
There was a time when the Christmas number 1 single was always X Factor. Those days are gone and now it’s open season. In fact, X Factor UK finished several weeks early this year, and the winner’s song, as performed by Dalton Harris and James Arthur (they’re bringing in the big guns to increase their chances) is the fourth favourite at 6.50.
The front runner is Ariana Grande, who currently can’t do anything wrong and is huge in the UK. The second and third favourites are Ava Max and the Flakefleet Primary School, but no one can touch Ariana in the betting markets and she looks set to take it. If you’re looking for a good outside bet, get your money on Elton John at 11.00, we’d love to see the legend top the charts again and it’s a deserving song.
I’m a Celebrity
I’m a Celebrity 2018 will finish before the second week of December, giving the celebs plenty of time to settle down for the festive season. The runaway front runner in the betting market is football manager Harry Redknapp, who looks like a dead-cert to win the whole thing. But Fleur East isn’t too far behind.
The question is, will she finish runner-up in another major UK talent competition or is this her time in the spotlight?
