Winners Revealed at the Global Gaming Awards 2018

There are several major award shows in the online gaming sector and the Global Gaming Awards is one of the biggest. This is where developers are rewarded for their efforts in creating the games that players love, and the 2018 Global Gaming Awards in Las Vegas threw up some big winners.

The Awards

The Global Gaming Awards 2018 were held in Las Vegas, at the Sands Expo Convention Centre, with over 700 industry experts in attendance. The awards themselves, of which there were many, were judged by a team of 70 experts, taking into account the quality of the product and the service as well as the popularity that they had achieved over the calendar year.

The lead partner for the event was BetConstruct and there were also several sponsors.

The Winners

The biggest winners at this year’s awards were SG Digital and Aristocrat. These names may not be immediately familiar to the average online gambler, but their creations most certainly are. SG Gaming are behind some of the biggest brands in this sector, including WMS, who created Ruby Slippers, and Barcrest, who are responsible for the hugely popular Rainbow Riches.

SG Digital also created a betting platform named OpenBet, and it was this platform that won the plaudits in the Digital Industry Supplier category. Aristocrat, on the other hand, are better known for their offline games. In fact, they are often said to be the biggest offline gaming company, stocking casinos the world over, and also offering a selection of online titles.

Aristocrat won an award for the best Land Based Product thanks to its Lightening Link slot, but they also scooped Slot of the Year for their Game of Thrones slot. There were a few other notable winners as well, including the Best Digital Operator, which went to Bet365 and Best Product Innovation, which was taken by Evolution Gaming.
